"Play it again Sam"

As any film buff knows Humphrey Bogart’s Rick Blaine never said that line in the film Casablanca. David Cameron never said “hug a hoodie”, Captain Kirk never said “beam me up Scotty” and Mae West never said “Come up and see me some time”.

Peter Mandelson, speaking on Radio 4’s Today programme tried to convince us that Gordon Brown never said “Tory cuts vs Labour investment”. Only he did, numerous times:

You can read about it on Nick Robinson’s blog here and listen to the exchange here.

Ooooops, Lord Mandelson telling porkies? Who would have thought it?

  1. James, let me help you out here, he's a politician; most tell porkies, I picked that up when I was about 8. You can help me me out by telling me what your policies are. Leave out the one about slagging off anyone who ain't a Tory.

BTW, why do you write in a way that implies you didn't live through the last Conservative governments or you were abroad? You seem not to have noticed the cuts/non-existence of public services or the way the NHS was run at that time. That's without mentioning the railways…

  3. That's just one policy, in fact it's a tactic, not even a policy. And half of it (confiscation of cards) was already there!

But don't you think that people are fed up with politicians just throwing crap at each other? I'm sure you think about policies a lot but there's no evidence of that from your site or your comments. I'm yer actual floating local voter but as a senior Tory with an interest in where I live I have learnt nothing from you about what you want to achieve in the future for the people you represent or the Tories nationally; just 'isn't Ken/Brown/Mandelson/a n other rubbish and aren't we great'

I keep on levelling this at you yet your strategy remains the same.
