  1. Hello James, I think far too many people are being allowed into the country which is puting strain on the already overstretched demand for housing. But all of these affordable housing schemes are just ridiculous, they doing nothing for people on an AVERAGE wage to help get on the property ladder. As for unwillingness to build, there is plenty of building going just aimed at the wrong area….all yuppie flats and apartments.

  3. It is easy to blame this problem on people coming into the country but it is this wave of immigration that is helping the British economy to expand, not to mention helping the immigrants and their families. Many immigrants are doing exactly the jobs that British people seem unable or unwilling to do. Perhaps we could swap these enthusiastic immigrants for the work-shy British who can now claim UK level benefits from Bulgaria and live in luxury. On the subject of housing, there needs to be reform of the tax system which allows developers to buy properties and wait for them to fall apart rather than housing people.Businesses need to be encouraged to operate outside of London. The government has taken the lead in this but it had lead to a situation where parts of the north of England are really state controlled economies, with the majority of employment in the public sector. There are loads of cheap houses in the north or England but the jobs are in London and people need to live near where they work. It is this centralising of the entire English economy into one city that is really leading to the massive problems, not just in London but with significant knock on effects across the south. To solve the housing crisis house building is necessary, both public and private housing, but we need to address the structural issues that push up prices in London. Without action there will be a crash due to the fact that the market forces are unsustainable. The pain that this will cause for millions of people must be avoided.

  7. Anon,The childishly simplistic answers proposed by the BNP are a joke.Rather than flinging blame around we need to look at sensible answers to migration, housing, resources etc.I’m leaving your links up so that people can read what you say and can see understand just how racist and full of hole the BNP’s plans are.
