Iran in the nuclear club

Why is the Iranian leadership so keen to tell the world about getting nuclear technology? I think that the answer lies in another question. What was the difference between Iraq under Sadam Hussein and North Korea the other two members in George Bush’s axis of evil?

North Korea had nuclear technology and Iraq didn’t. Iraq got invaded and North Korea didn’t.

Having seen Iraq invaded and its tyrannical leader ousted it is hardly surprising that the Iranian leadership are trying to get the “ultimate deterrent”. It worries me deeply that they have chosen this route because I think that becoming a potentially nuclear threat will make it more likely that the west will “intervene”.

We are in no position to get involved in another conflict, yet we cannot sit back and watch an unstable regime become a nuclear weapons holder. In light of this government’s under spending on and over committing of the British Armed forces what do we do next?

Answers on a postcard please.

  1. You must hand it to Iran, they have impeccable timing. With both the UK & US privately admitting massive military overstretch and the rest of the world too lily livered to do anything about it, they will probably get enough breathing space to convert their plutonium to weapons grade. When Israel gets wiped of the face of the earth, and the ensuing conflict reduces the supply of oil, the west will only have itself to blame for 50 years of military cuts!
